Colman Domingo Wins Big at NAACP Image Awards

Colman Domingo, the versatile actor known for his powerful performances, was as a double winner at the 55th NAACP Image Awards this weekend. 

He won in both the Outstanding Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actor categories for his role in the films “Rustin” and “The Color Purple.” respectively.

Domingo’s ability to bring depth and authenticity to his roles resonated with audiences and critics alike.

Domingo, who was out of the country on a project, thanked the NAACP and his fans with a reel on his Instagram account, writing “Thank you @naacpimageawards sorry I couldn’t be there! 🩷🩷🩷✨✨✨,.” The reel has over 49K views in less than 12 hours.

Despite his absence at the awards show, social media erupted with excitement as news of Domingo’s wins spread. Fans, fellow actors, and industry insiders flooded platforms with congratulatory messages. 

“We love you,” American actress, producer, and screenwriter Lena Waithe commented.

Another fan, stephanie_marucci_, wrote, “Deserved in every way! Congratulations you are An amazing actor with so much talent One-in-a-Million keep going ♥️. 🌹✨♥️✨”
