Luis Miguel, the singer known by millions of fans world wide as "El Sol de Mexico" is making headlines lately. After almost completely selling out his 2023 tour in as little as 3 days, all eyes seem to be on him for a variety of reasons.
Some Argentinian news outlets, like El Cronista y El comercio (to name just a couple) are coming out to say that Luis Miguel's part of the tour through "el pais gaucho" has been odd.
Why? Well, they report that Miguel is travelling with multiple body doubles, and some have gone as far as to say that the body doubles are the ones performing, not Luismi himself!
We may not know if these rumors are true or not, but we can tell you exactly where to find the 53-year-old superstar singing (or not singing?) Some of our favorite tunes. In the bizarro world of Artificial Intelligence, or AI.
Like many other artists all over the globe (alive or no longer with us), Miguel has had his voice cloned and used to create (or recreate) music pieces sung by other artists. And, in some cases, his familiar voice has even been part of original compositions.
The process to clone -- or as it's called in the AI world: to "train a model" -- is fairly simple. There are tons of resources and many collaboration groups that provide tutorials, chatrooms, and even access to premade models created by the community by people all over the world.
Just doing a quick search under "Luis Miguel IA" will come up with lots of different songs (some excellent, some horrible) created by fans that either created some models or used one of the many available out there.
Here is one good example of a song that has never been actually recorded by Luis Miguel, Rocio Durcal's "Gata Bajo La Lluvia".
To keep up with the demand from fans, Cardenas Marketing Network just announced the schedule for Luis Miguel's 2024 tour, which can be found on the singer's official Instagram account.

Thank goodness for old-fashioned concerts because, no matter how convincing they may be, body doubles and AI are nothing like seeing and hearing El Sol perform … IRL.
