One of the most representative voices of today’s Salsa is Marc Anthony. Considered by some the modern king of Salsa, Anthony, whose real name is Marco Antonio Muñiz, was born in New York to Puerto Rican parents. Since he was a child, his father instilled in him a love for music.
Anthony has reaped many achievements in his more than 30 years in music. He won numerous awards, including two Grammys and six Latin Grammys.
A Miami resident for several years, Anthony moved into one of the Sunshine State’s most striking buildings, the famous One Thousand Museum super luxury condominium tower. It is located on Miami’s Biscayne Boulevard, across from Museum Park, overlooking Biscayne Bay and Miami Beach.
Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid designed the One Thousand Museum. The fantastic thing about the tower is its well-thought-out design makes it highly resistant to Miami’s wind loads.
The property that Marc Anthony bought has 8,400 square feet and costs 11 million dollars, just over 1,300 dollars per square foot. As a curious fact, one of the salsa singer’s famous neighbors is the soccer star David Beckham, who, together with his wife Victoria, bought an apartment for 19.8 million dollars.

- The Grammy winner sold his old Coral Gables mansion for $21M before buying his new downtown Miami condo.
- Marc Anthony played another famous Salsa singer, Hector Lavoe, in the film El Cantante (2007), directed by Cuban Leon Ichaso.
- Marc Anthony holds the Guinness World Record for the best-selling tropical/salsa artist and the Guinness World Record for the most number-one albums on the annual Billboard Tropical Albums chart.
- Zaha Hadid died before the completion of the building in 2019.
- Marc Anthony has sold more than 12 million albums worldwide.
